When you are trying to determine which web host to choose, you should always do the proper amount of research. A lot of people fail to research before they make their web host selection and regret it in the future. Do not be one of those people. Do your research beforehand, and avoid problems that can ensue in the future. Below we will talk about some things you should consider before choosing your next web host.

1. Price.

Price is what most people look at when they are determining whether or not to purchase a product or service. However, this should not be your sole purpose for choosing a web host, although this doesn’t mean cheap hosts cannot be great. Remember the adage, “you get what you pay for.” This has never been  truer for a product than it is for web hosting. You should take a really close look at the features that you will need, and then compare the pricing relative to those features, such as Cpanel or Cloudflare integration. Do not simply look at the lowest cost provider and pick.

2. Limitations.

You are going to want to research the limitations of the hosting providers. You want to ensure that the hosting plan fits into your current and future plans. What do you have in planned for your website and/or blog? Are you planning on growing it to be massive? If so, you may need to adapt your hosting plan to fit that. You need to ensure that it can serve you in the future, as well as the present.

3. Technical Support.

webhostingsupportThis should be a very big consideration if you are not completely tech savvy. Customer support can turn a web hosting from a huge headache, to a pain free process. You are going to want to ensure that you choose a web hosting company that has an excellent customer support and tech support because you may run into problems down the road. You are going to want to have the tech support there to lean on.  Some companies like SiteGround for example will respond in seconds, whereas others such as GoDaddy do not offer live chat, and the only way to get instant support is via their telephone support number.

4. Reputation.

You are undoubtedly going to want to search for the company’s reputation before choosing your web hosting provider. Quite simply, this could be the most important thing you do in order to ensure that you pick the right web hosting company. Are they rated highly? Are they rated poor? These are factors that should determine their attractiveness to you as a hosting provider.

So what are the best web hosting providers?

This is a difficult question, as there are so many, each with the particular features and pricing structure.  One of the best things to do is to look at web hosting review sites such as Best Host News, and ultimately follow some of their recommendations and read their reviews, such as their Namecheap review, or Hostgator review.  Both of these hosts, Namecheap and Hostgator for example are well renown, and recognised for their support and services, all at a reasonable price.
